Frequently Asked Questions

We've received several queries from our writers so here are some of the most commonly asked questions. These will hopefully help you submit a story for Terminal Earth and get accepted.

1. So, does the world really have to end?
Yes. Yes, it does! That's why we called it Terminal Earth and not Beaten Up Earth or Badly Bruised Earth. We've seen stories where a town is destroyed, where a whole family is killed and many different variations on a theme, a theme where the earth does not end. And all of these are now in the reject pile.

2. I have a killer story, but it's only 1500 words. Is that a problem?
We have put the word limit range for a good reason. We expect our authors to follow it. If a story goes 500 over, it's not the end of the world (pun!) but at least make an effort to come in between 3000 and 6000 words. Please. We have rejected stories purely on length although it's also true that a couple of longer stories (and by longer, I mean up to 7000 words) are in the hold pile.
